the legend of Madeline S. Gallagher
Howdy! You can call me Maddie. I am a Chicago-based actor hailing from the Northeast suburbs of Atlanta. Now I know what you’re probably thinking- “Maddie, why would you give up 50° winters to move somewhere where they call soda ‘pop’?”. If I were to answer now, I’d credit the vibrant artistic scene, the beaches, and days watching the cubs at Wrigley Field - but at eighteen years old, my answer was the same as many: BFA or Bust. I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with my BFA in Musical Theatre from The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and I have been loving life post-grad!
While I’m in rehearsal/on set, I like to bring as much of myself as I can to the table and then fill the gaps with exploration and imagination. I believe that my glass-half-full attitude and collaborative nature make me easy to work with, while also making me an artist who is unafraid to take risks when the situation calls for it. I take my work very seriously, but I also believe that life is too short to not be a little silly.
When I am not acting, you can find me traveling, watching Anthony Bourdain reruns on Youtube, or exploring new shops and restaurants in Chicago. I also have a passion for bartending, and you may find me bartending at Tinroof in Wrigleyville (or in my kitchen riffing on a classic).
